The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Washington, D.C., and the The U.S. Department of the Interior's Bureau of Land Management (BLM) are preparing the Imperial-Mexicali 230-kV Transmission Lines EIS. The Environmental Assessment
Division of Argonne National Laboratory, Argonne, Illinois, is assisting the
DOE. BLM is a cooperating agency, and is working closely with DOE and with Argonne.
Argonne National Laboratory is one of the U.S. Department of Energy's largest research centers. Argonne's Environmental Assessment Division conducts applied research, assessment, and technology development in the following areas: risk and waste management; natural resource systems and integrated assessments; restoration and pollution prevention; environmental policy analysis and planning; and environmental management systems.
