Linde Remedial Action Project
Air Monitoring Data 2000Air sample data are being collected with high volume samplers installed at ten locations around the perimeter of the Praxair facility. The samplers are placed at locations that represent the outer perimeter of the entire site and the inner perimeter of the contaminated areas. Prior to excavation, background air monitoring data were collected at the monitoring stations from October 1999 through June 2000. Samples were sent off-site for analyses using alpha spectroscopy. Average background (baseline) readings were calculated from the background data for each radiological isotope. During the excavation, a weekly composite sample is collected from each high volume perimeter air sampler. The weekly composite samples are composited into a monthly sample. The monthly composite sample is analyzed isotopically using alpha spectroscopy. A summary of the data results is provided below. In addition, the alpha spectroscopy results for radium-226, thorium-230, and uranium-238 are shown below for each individual air sampler. 2000 Overall Summary of the Air-Sampler Results
