Feasibility Study (FS)
Analysis of the practicality of a proposal (e.g., a description and analysis of potential cleanup alternatives for a site such as those on the NPL). The FS usually recommends the selection of a cost-effective alternative. It usually starts as soon as the RI is underway (ORNL 1999a). The FS portion of the RI/FS process develops and evaluates remedial options (EPA 1997).
Federal Facilities
Any building, structure, installation, equipment, impoundment, landfill, or so forth that is owned or managed by a Federal agency (e.g., DoD, DOC, DOI, and DOE).
