Ingestion Rate (IR)
The rate at which an organism consumes food, water, or other materials (e.g., soil, sediment). The ingestion rate is usually expressed in terms of unit of mass or volume per unit of time (e.g., kg/day, L/day).

DoD's restoration program under DERP to identify, investigate, and clean up contamination at active/operating sites associated with past DoD activities.
