MARSSIM for the Public Training
Public outreach and education related to the cleanup of radiologically
contaminated sites are the focus of a two- to three-hour MARSSIM workshop.
Public outreach and education related to the cleanup of radiologically contaminated
sites are the focus of Argonne’s two- to three-hour MARSSIM for the
Public Training workshop. The purpose of the workshop is to explain
how a systematic and statistically based process is used to confirm that the
cleanup actions taken have been protective of human health and the environment.
Typical
topics of discussion include:
- Overview of MARSSIM Workshop organization and goals,
- Key MARSSIM concepts and components,
- MARSSIM and radiation measurement instrumentation,
- The MARSSIM final status survey design process,
- MARSSIM implementation issues,
- Site-specific MARSSIM example, and
- Questions and discussion.
