A model for for implementing screening and analysis methods contained in the DOE Technical Standard, “A Graded Approach for Evaluating Radiation Doses to Aquatic and Terrestrial Biota” (also referred to as the Biota Manual).

This tool was developed through the Department’s Biota Dose Assessment Committee (BDAC), an approved committee organized through the DOE Technical Standards Program. The BDAC is sponsored and chaired by the Office of Environmental Policy and Guidance, Air, Water and Radiation Division.

A companion tool for use with the Technical Standard. Together, the Technical Standard and RESRAD-BIOTA are for use in demonstrating compliance with DOE and internationally-recommended dose limits for biota, and for conducting ecological assessments of radiological impact.
